Colton Linnertz - Black & Blue Football - @BlacknBlueFB
This week I am going to focus on players that might be able to help you if you are stuck in bye week hell. Here are some players with great matchups, getting opportunities and with a shot to be a bye week starter for you.
Take a shot: Blue Matchups
Minnesota D - Playing at home against the Cardinals is a great matchup. Skelton will be starting for Kolb. He will most likely be rusty. Fumbles, sacks & INTs will be plentiful. I actually like the Minnesota D for the next few weeks also.
WR Donnie Avery - Avery saw 14 targets last week, however the Colts were down the whole game and throwing to catch up, but he is going up against a weak Cleveland secondary. The Colts play better at home, so Avery has a shot for a big day.
WR Stephen Hill - I realize it is tough to trust Mark Sanchez, but Hill is his best WR and the Jets will be behind in this game at NE. The New England secondary has been shaky again this year. I think he is a great bet for 100 yds and maybe a TD. When healthy, Hill has produced.
TE Jordan Cameron - Here is a guy who is getting more and more opportunity. The Browns are going against a poor Colts D and with all the injuries to the Browns’ WRs, Cameron should see some targets. He is a desperation play with some upside.
RB Lance Dunbar - This is my bye week long shot of the week. All the attention has been on Felix Jones this week, but if Felix and Philip Tanner are not available and you need someone with some upside, go with Dunbar. He has the ability to take it to the house on any play, very shifty back and Dallas will give him 6-8 carries against the horrible Panthers run D.
WR Devery Henderson - Henderson is an all or nothing type guy. He either gets a 60 yd TD or 10yds. Jimmy Graham isn’t a lock to play this week and I expect the Saints to be sharp coming out of a bye. Henderson will see some targets and a big upside play if you are desperate.
The Bad: Black Matchups
Green Bay - The Rams are one of the toughest teams in the league to throw against. Rodgers has a calf injury and GB is coming off a huge win at Houston. This is a huge trap game. I’m not saying sit the GB players, but don’t go into this week thinking, oh it’s the Rams this will be easy.
QB Matthew Stafford – This is the worst possible matchup for Stafford. He has always struggled against the Bears and he is not playing well this season. Add to that, the CHI D is one of the best in the league & the game is on the road. Teams have figured out that all you have to do is double Calvin and Stafford has no one else to throw to.
