On August 9 before the rivalry game between the Giants and Dodgers at AT&T park, fans had a unique opportunity to attend a PC workshop. To attend the workshop fans had to buy a special ticket for the event that started before the game and after the event fans had seats in the fast pitch section to enjoy the game. The event really was the first of it's kind and the Giants were very excited to be the first major league baseball team to jump on the opportunity.
The Giants have always been very high on technology ever since the opening of AT&T park and partnering up with AMD was just another way to show fans how innovative the organization is and how they are constantly looking for ways to keep the fans involved. The event itself was to show off the new AMD A8-3870k processor and show fans how easy and fun it could be to build their own computer from the ground up. The processor itself truly is state of the art, it will enable Fast Web browsing, email and social media,Best video experience on some of your favorite applications,Responsive performance for the best accelerated application experience on everyday tasks AND Blu-Ray/Blu-Ray 3D movie viewing,3D gaming on up-to four screens.
"I am blown away. I am a passionate giants fan, and I am passionate tech guy, seeing 2 of my favorite things in the world come together is heaven for me. To see sports put on an event like this really shows that the future is upon us and it's getting more and more advanced by the minute!" an excited fan shared at the event. If that wasn't enough for the lucky fans at the event that got to see the processor in full action everyone got to take the AMD A8-3870K 'Llano' accelerated processing unit home with them. "This was more then I expected! I thought I was basically going to see a demo of it in action and see these guys put it together for us. To walk away with this in my hand was well worth it."Another fan shared.
All in all, this was a smashing success for not only AMD but for the Giants to team up. Technology in sports is getting more and more advanced every season in any capacity. It's exciting to think just how big a role technology will play in the sports world in the near future.
